Learning Goals + Plan My goal for my final preceptorship is to utilize the skills, tools and knowledge that I have developed over the past five semesters. I would also like to meet the clinical competencies that I have not yet achieved during previous clinical rotations. I will fulfill these goals by seeking out learning opportunities during my time with the New Westminster ACT Team. In addition, I will utilize critical thinking, key communications skills, assessment skills , empathy and a non-judgmental attitude in order to reach my set learning goals for semester six.
Upon completion of 360 preceptor hours at the New Westminster ACT Team, I hope to achieve mastery in all psychiatric nursing competences as I reach graduation in May, 2015. I will meet my learning goals by completing various learning plans and adding revisions as needed, writing reflective journals and looking for new experiences to build my craft. I will continue to seek out clarification when needed and utilize all members of the health care team. By the end of semester six, I hope to meet the full requirements for graduation and successfully write the Registered Psychiatric Nursing exam (RPNCE).
